SGH2 Energy Global Corp. originally Global Plasma Systems, was founded by Dr. Robert Do, a biophysicist, medical doctor and entrepreneur and Dr. Salvador Camacho, “the father of plasma technology.” Dr. Camacho developed the high temperature plasma torch to test heat shields at NASA. Without his invention, there would have been no way to guarantee the safe re-entry of NASA astronauts into Earth’s atmosphere.
SGH2 Energy Global Corp. (SGH2) is a multinational company. SGH2 is focused on the gasification of waste into hydrogen and holds the exclusive rights to build, own and operate SGH2’s SPEG technology to produce green hydrogen. SGH2 has projects in development around the world including Australia, UK, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, South Korea, Japan and others. SGH2 Lancaster is the managing company for the Lancaster, California, project.

Dr. Do is the author and inventor of SGH2 Hydrogen Production technology. With graduate degrees in BioPhysics and Medicine from Georgetown University, as well as Executive MBA Program at Harvard University Business School, Dr. Do has over 25 years of experience and expertise as an Entrepreneur, Scientist, and Executive. Dr. Do is responsible for the overall strategy, technology offering and management of SGH2 Energy. As CEO and Expert in hydrogen production technology, Dr. Do has led the growth of SGH2 Energy globally rolling out SGH2 production facilities from California to Europe, Australia, Latin America, Asia to South Africa. With experience in project development in both public health, resources and waste management, renewable energy production including green power as well sustainable aviation fuels production, Dr. Do has successfully created Public Private Partnership with municipalities, strategic partnerships, and Hydrogen contracts with the largest energy companies in the world. Green Hydrogen will be responsible for 1/4 the of the world energy and will be the key green energy molecule to help decarbonize and achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050m which is essential to keep global temperature rise below 2 C.
Dr. Sylvain Motycka | MBA | Ph.D
Chief Technology Officer
With 15 years of international experience in renewable energy, business development and systems engineering, Sylvain has extensive knowledge of the waste, gas, energy and biofuels industries. As an expert in gasification, plasma physics and systems engineering, he has authored and co-authored numerous publications, articles and patents.
Sylvain served as Director of ECO’R, a company specialized in developing commercial projects in France that produce renewable bioenergies such as methane, hydrogen and biofuels. Previously, Sylvain worked at the Institute of Plasma Physics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, where he researched (i) hybrid water-gas DC stabilized thermal plasma torches and (ii) wood pyrolysis and gasification systems integrated with plasma torch systems. Sylvain previously designed an integrated non-thermal plasma torch system for SurfX Technologies, a US-based company. Sylvain holds a PhD. in Systems Engineering from the George Washington University, a MBA from the Sorbonne Business School and a MS in Plasma Physics from University of Orléans, France.
Paul Elberse

Paul Elberse has 30 years experience in senior executive positions in both international financial institutions, as well as nimble entrepreneurial enterprises and project companies on 4 different continents. He has held leadership, governance and ownership positions in finance (banks, pension and investment funds, insurance, investment banking) and renewable energy development companies. He has led organizations in acquisitive growth programs and mergers, through divestments and restructurings, in international expansion plans, and as developer. He has worked hand in hand with multilateral financial institutions like the World Bank, IFC, IADB, export credit agencies, DFIs and leading international banks and investors in structuring financial solutions for the different growth phases. Mr. Elberse is responsible for the financial management and structuring and plays an active role in the international business development of the company and the formation of a global hydrogen ecosystem as an investor in different climate tech and PtX development projects. Mr. Elberse is a graduate from the Higher Economic School in the Netherlands, of University of Hartford Barney's Graduate School of Business and is an alum of Stanford's Senior Executive Program.
Rahul Chopra

Rahul Chopra is a serial entrepreneur, a Rockefeller Foundation Fellow, Advisor to US Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Advisor to City of San Francisco Mayor, and a partner at Ventus Partners, where he advises leading venture capital funds, technology incubators, and startups in the fields of energy and telecom infrastructure, healthcare IT, and technology-related business models and markets. Mr. Chopra led the effort to establish multi-million-dollar public-private partnerships in the field of energy efficiency as an asset class at Berkeley Lab ; Grid In a Box for deep renewables on the grid; and a new scale-up manufacturing incubator for the next generation of energy storage. In addition to advising the Lab on energy technologies, Mr. Chopra leads development and energy infrastructure advancement activities with international governments and corporations at the highest levels in Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Mexico. Mr. Chopra is working with the EU’s parliament to help develop energy efficiency as an asset class and developing multiple H2@Scale generation assets around the world. In addition to serving on the Boards of multiple technology firms, incubators, and foundations, Mr. Chopra works closely with the leading venture and private equity firms as an advisor in diverse industries that span energy, wireless, and healthcare infrastructure creation and optimization. Mr. Chopra has over 20 years of financial, transactions, corporate development and strategy expertise in launching and growing disruptive, high-tech businesses. Rahul has founded two technology startups that invented 10G Ethernet, and MIMO-wireless (now a standard for all wireless standard) and raised over $200M in capital and completed over $1Billion in transactions, including establishing a multibillion dollar telecom JV in China. Mr. Chopra is a graduate of Columbia University, University of California, Berkeley and Clemson University.
Joe Cappello

With an impressive 35-year career that began on Wall Street, Joe is a seasoned senior executive known for his exceptional leadership in guiding businesses from start-ups to billion-dollar divisions of Fortune 250 companies. His extensive international business experience is complemented by nearly a decade dedicated to developing the US hydrogen infrastructure, with a particular focus on California. His commitment to the decarbonization of the transportation industry and improving environmental factors in disadvantaged communities is unwavering. His recent roles, including President of Nikola Energy and Senior Managing Officer at Iwatani Corporation, showcase a deep understanding of the intricacies of the hydrogen supply chain and a commitment to pioneering first-of-a-kind technologies.
As a dedicated volunteer, Joe served as Chair and Vice Chair of the California Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership in West Sacramento. He was a member of the Board of Directors from 2019 to 2023, collaborating with diverse public and private members to advance hydrogen infrastructure development and accelerate the adoption of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and Class 8 trucks.
Taco De Haan

Taco de Haan is a distinguished global EPC expert with over three decades of invaluable experience in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) sectors. Mr. de Haan, a transformative leader with a proven track record in constructing and operating processing plants on a global scale, previously served as CEO & President of the Stork Group, and President of Fluor Energy & Chemicals developing & delivering large EPC projects across the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. At Fluor, he was Project Sponsor on the largest ongoing projects working with blue chip owner/operators such as Sasol, Sabic, Aramco, Adnoc, Shell, Exxon, BASF and many others. He was often involved with Client executives from project initiation all the way to project completion. In this role, he had responsibility over multiple engineering offices with over 5.000 engineers and often greater than 10.000 construction craft active in the field. He was statutory Supervisory Board Member of several Fluor legal entities and was Chairman of the FDH JV Board. This Joint Venture was responsible for delivering 2 complex multi-billion US$ LS EPC projects in Kuwait utilizing innovative supply chain solutions and applying modular design solutions fabricated in Korea and China. After acquiring the Stork company in 2016, Fluor management appointed Mr de Haan as CEO & President of this global O&M company with approximately 20,000 employees. At the same time Mr de Haan became part of the Fluor Corporate Management Team as Group President and a 16b officer. Mr de Haan was responsible for integrating the Stork companies, develop new, innovative, client propositions and improved both the safety and financial performance. In 2021 Mr de Haan was requested to lead the divestiture of Stork which is anticipated to be completed early 2024. Mr de Haan holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Breda University of Applied Sciences, a certificate in organizational change & transition from the University of Miami and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Derby, UK. Mr. de Haan has completed several portfolio assignments as a member of the advisory board for Avans University, Netherlands, chairman of the board for the European Construction Institute as well as an advisory board member for the Dutch National Innovation Council to support Small Medium Enterprises. He is currently a non-executive director on the board of the Dutch association of Employers VNO-NCW representing the FME.
Dennis Miller
U.S. Government Relations
With over 35 years of experience as an environmental scientist in finding and developing advanced technologies, Miller played a key role in the startup of the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment. The National Academy of Sciences selected him to form the Energy Engineering Board and later the Board on Army S&T and over 10 years he successfully raised millions of dollars. EG&G hired him to head an international S&T program at the Idaho National Lab, which led to his becoming a science advisor to the Assist. Secretary for EM, USDOE, in its new $6.8 billion environmental program. While overviewing DOE and international laboratories, he sought new advanced technologies. One finding was high temperature gasification R&D at two French labs, which led him to meet in the U.S. and work with Dr. Salvador Camacho, who invented the plasma torch. Miller joined SGH2 formed by Dr. Do from 1999 to 2015 as VP, Technology Development. He taught at the Universities of Chicago and Maryland. Later, when awarded Fulbright Research Professor grants, he taught advanced environmental technology at Universities in Buenos Aires, Argentina and in Bogota, Colombia. He has over 100 publications.
Souren Hakopian

Souren Hakopian has been an entrepreneur, an investor and an advocate of technology oriented solutions for over 40 years. He has launched seven start-ups and has invested and held key positions in many more. Mr. Hakopian is currently a major stockholder, director and a board member in multiple entities ranging in Revenue from $2 million to $50 million dollars.
Mr. Hakopian is experienced in telemetry and defense communications and has received awards from Major government contractors for his creative solutions. For the past 35 years, he has been involved in Design Engineering, Product development, contract negotiations, manufacturing setup and quality control dealing with government as well as major contractors of private sector. In the last 15 years, Mr. Hakopian has invested extensively in alternative energy solutions. Mr. Hakopian is a graduate of Saint Michael's College.
Rocio Velez
Business Development, Caribbean and Latin America
Ms. Velez is a resilient mid-career legal counsel with 20 years of international experience in renewable energy, contract law, FCPA matters, grants management, public speaking and executive engagement development. Ms. Velez joined Solena in 2001. She is part of an original cast of members that took the holding company Solena Group Corporation from a growth company to a sustainable energy company with multiple waste gasification and hydrogen solutions in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Ms. Velez provides legal counsel and business development support to SGH2 Energy in Latin America and the Caribbean. Ms. Velez is also an E-discovery litigation attorney and research analyst with several years of experience advising clients on antitrust matters, compliance management, AML and economic sanctions as well as FCPA, Anti-Bribery laws and regulations. Ms. Velez currently serves as a political analyst and CNN contributor. Ms. Velez is an attorney holding a Juris Doctor degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Ms. Velez is as an active member of the Bar in the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Eddie Robinson has over 25 years’ experience as an executive and project manager providing successful delivery of research & development, renewable energy with specific emphasis in plasma gasification, and industrial projects. Eddie has extensive expertise leading/managing multi-national teams in the scheduling, budgeting, cost controls, and risk mitigation of global projects up $500 M. Laser focused on establishing project objectives, communicating project vision to stakeholders/team and executing project plans. Mr. Robinson is a Professional Engineer in Controls Systems with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Luisa Rivas
Financial Analyst
Ms. Luisa Rivas is a financial analyst at SGH2 Energy with a strong focus on the development of Green Hydrogen projects, Renewable Energy, and Infrastructure projects in different geographies. She has been actively involved in the early stage development of utility-scale wind and solar developments as a development team manager covering all the relevant project development stages and themes. In her earlier career, she worked for a leading Latin American engineering and construction company on large-scale infrastructural works in Venezuela and Brazil. As an environmental engineer she ensures that projects match the strictest sustainability standards. Ms. Rivas holds an Environmental Engineering Degree and a Master's Degree in Energy Engineering from the University of Montevideo, Uruguay.
